Whimsical carrots, painted in watercolor, with two words underneath.

It is a quiet piece for a kitchen, a dining wall or an office — the kind of thing you stop noticing and keep seeing anyway. That is rather the point. Every time you walk past it, it says the same small thing: keep going, and keep choosing the food that grows.

I painted it to celebrate whole food — the color of it, the ordinariness of it — and to make the case for carbs somewhere other than a book. If you have read anything of mine, you already know the argument. This is the version that hangs on a wall.

What you get

One file, big enough for a very large wall.

Format
JPEG
Pixels
7200 × 9000
At 300 dpi
24 × 30 in
Ratio
4:5

The file keeps its 4:5 ratio, so it scales down without distortion: print it at 20×25, 16×20, 12×15 or 8×10 inches and the picture stays exactly as it is, only smaller. The download starts the moment your payment goes through, and the link lands in your inbox too, in case you want it again later.

On the wall

How it looks once it is framed.

Mockups — the frame is not included. What you buy is the file.

Printing it

Paper matters more than the printer.

  • Choose a 170–350 g/m² plain matte or watercolor paper. The heavier and more textured it is, the closer the print sits to the original painting.
  • Print it at home if you have a decent photo printer, or hand the file to a professional print service — both work at these dimensions.
  • Ask for matte rather than gloss. Watercolor wants a surface that absorbs light instead of bouncing it back.

Two honest notes.

Colors shift. Every monitor and every printer renders them a little differently, so what you see here and what comes out of the printer will not match exactly. A professional print service gets you closest.
